Care Instructions

• Hand wash only: Gently wash your alpaca poncho in cold water. Avoid hot water, as it may cause shrinking or felting.

• Use mild or wool-specific detergents: Choose gentle, non-aggressive soaps designed for delicate fibers. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.

• Do not wring or twist: After washing, press out excess water carefully by hand, or roll the poncho inside a clean towel to absorb moisture.

• Dry flat: Lay the garment flat on a dry towel in its natural shape. Avoid hanging, as it may stretch the fibers.

• Avoid direct heat or strong sunlight: Let it air-dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area to preserve softness and color.

• Iron only if necessary: If needed, iron on the lowest heat setting with a protective cloth between the iron and the fabric. Steaming from a distance is safer and helps maintain the fibers’ natural loft.

• Do not tumble dry: Machine drying can damage or shrink alpaca wool.

• Store properly: Keep the poncho folded in a breathable cotton bag, and use natural moth repellents (like lavender or cedar wood) if stored for long periods.
